Hundreds of people across the country told us why they serve in our first ever “I Serve Because…” video contest. Here is a compilation video that captures the spirit of those submissions. Take a look: Be a "Voice" and share this video with your friends, family, and elected officials to spread the word of the power of service. We still want to hear from you! If you have a story to tell (and we know you do) please share it with us so we can continue to build this collection of inspiring and impactful stories.

Voices for National Service, in partnership with Service Nation and AmeriCorps Alums, has been collecting personal stories with our first ever “I Serve Because…” video contest. With that contest we collected more than 140 video submissions detailing the direct impact national service has on both communities and individuals.

Just because we announced a winner, doesn’t mean the campaign is over.  If you still have stories to tell (and we know you do) we want to hear them.  Our goal is to build a collection of inspiring stories from every state in the U.S. that can be shared with policymakers, community leaders and private sector partners.  If you haven’t gotten a chance to see the inspirational stories we’ve collected so far, check out the Save Service Facebook page for the finalists or watch them all by clicking here.
